Expansion Project
We are delighted that the desire for Christian High School education continues to grow. However; that means, we are maxing out our current space to fit all the students. It is because we believe in the vision of Christian education as an eternal investment in our children, that we see this as a worthwhile financial investment.
The Vision
Our vision is for CCS to have the classroom space to accommodate all students staying through Grade 12. Currently, CCS has single grade classes from K-8 and then two-grade classrooms for Gr. 9-10 and Gr. 11-12. These two high school rooms have become the pinch point for space in our facility and do not have capacity for the projected growth in high school enrollment. We desire to provide a facility that allows for all students to stay at CCS through their entire K-12 schooling experience.
We are delighted that more families are choosing to keep their child at CCS through high school. CCS deeply appreciates the value and leadership that the high school students bring to the school environment and student body.
We are aware of continued interest from some in the community for a workplace preparation track of study. The added space with this expansion will make greater flexibility in high school course offerings possible and will allow the school board and administration to continue to explore the possibility of adding an additional high school study track.

The Funding
We project the cost of this addition to be approximately 2 million dollars. This does not include the kitchen portion, which is being covered by the Countryside Church. The CCS board has committed to raising 75% of the funds before construction would begin. Countryside School operates under Countryside Mennonite Fellowship. This project is a Countryside Church endeavour, but the school board recognizes their delegated responsibility to lead out in the fundraising effort.
It is because we believe in the vision of Christian education as an eternal investment in our children, which in turn affects our churches, families, businesses, and communities, that we see this as a worthwhile financial investment.
The Need
-
The facility space limitations are experienced in numerous places. The high school classrooms, computer lab, kitchen, multi-purpose room, and Educational Assistance rooms are all already being used in less-than-ideal ways with the current student body size.
-
The desire for a Christian high school education is growing. In 2009, the first year that CCS offered K-12, we had 29 students in Gr. 9-12. Over the next 15 years we averaged 36 students in high school. Currently, our high school has 45 students, and our classrooms are maxed out. As we look ahead over the next 10 years, we project continued growth.
-
The additional space would provide the possibility of expanding what our school offers.
